Bank Synchronisations Policy Update
Q1: What is changing with my bank login connections?
Starting 1 July 2026, if your bank login consent is scheduled to expire at any point during a month, our system will automatically delete that connection on the 1st day of that month.
Q2: Why are you deleting my bank connections early?
Security regulations require bank consents to be renewed every 90 days.
Old Way: Bank login connections expired on random days mid-month, causing sudden data interruptions, and having to manage two bank login connections affecting your monthly usage.
New Way: Resetting on day one avoids mid-month disruptions so you start with a fresh connection, and your monthly usage is reset at the start of the month.
Q3: What do I need to do when a connection is deleted?
You will need to re-authenticate the connection in two steps:
1. Log in: Re-enter your bank credentials through our platform for a new 90-day consent.
2. Relink: Link your specific bank accounts back to your BankTree online / BankTree desktop accounts.
Q4: Will I lose my historical banking data?
No. Deleting the consent only pauses the live connection. Your existing data remains safe.
Q5: How often will I have to do this?
Because bank consents last for 90 days, you will only experience this reset once every three months.
