How has the UK Credit Crunch affected your spending?

This is a great product for managing my finances. I previously used Microsoft Money but find Banktree just as good. Some areas I would seek to improve are around investments which have quite basic functionality. But I realise not many people need this. I would also add better function for recording assets and there change in value. I find the product extremely cheap with the low one-off fee and would be willing to pay more if say there were annual updates with extra functionality based on feedback. I would highly recommend the product to anyone who asked me.

I have used Bank Tree since Microsoft Money was discontinued. It has worked faultlessly until the last 12 months when on 2 occasions it disappeared from my laptop. I suspect this was due to Norton "cleaning" my laptop... I hadn't set up back up correctly, so I had to start again.. not from scratch! Now I have it backed up to my Google Drive, but no more Norton cleaning. I like the program

The response to my question was quick and detailed. The communication went back and forth several times over a couple of days, but unfortunately my problem wasn't solved, although your representative said that my setup should be working ok with the current parameters. In the end I decided that since my problem related to my legacy Banktree 3.0 desktop sofware not synching reliably with the Banktree mobile app, the sensible thing would be for me to upgrade to Banktree Online, which I have now done. Everything is working fine now.

Hi Having used EMMA and other personal finance apps, Bank Tree is by far the best I have found. Combination of teh online version, together with IOS /Android apps is really great. Particularly like teh forecasting and goals feature. The only area where I think it would be good to see more guidance is around how to record Personal Pensions. I'm currently treating them as 'manual' bank accounts, and updating current balance by adding transactions (Bank: Pension Adjustment). This works, it provides a useful view of performance over time, but would be good if there was some kind of sync with Pension Providers (Royal London, Scottish Widows)

Initially, I wasa bit intimidated by Banktree Online compared to my Desktop Version (as the GUI is quite different). However, with your great support and me asking lots of questions (which were all answered at great speed) I began to work my way through the new GUI. I think for the price it's a great product (especially comapared to SAGE which is is over the top for most small to medium users). Y You miss an opportunity to upggrade your desktop videos (10 years old, altough they are great) they just feel a bit dated (get a younger presenter). A few videos on Online BankTree(similar to the Desktop version) would definitely help increase sales. Great product. Forecasts work really well. Only issue I have is that the mobile apps don't seem to sync very quickly with online I have used Emma app and have switched to banktree. Functionality is much better in banktree Would be good to see some advise on how to record pensions (currently using cad account)

So far have looked at two on line tutorials. A bit confused about the terminology and where and when I start. I only want a bank account and credit card account plus one other cash savings account. Currently assessing where I get the input information and then I will look at the tutorials again before continuing. I think I will purchases but I have yet to understand the 'how'! I will not link anything to outside accounts - don't trust on line links.

I am delighted with the application. It is easy to use. I am importing my account data. There are some things to improve: international characters, use of semicolons, possibility of connecting to Spanish banks. I look forward to new updates with improvements and new features. I prefer the desktop software. Good job.

Great software. Have used HomeAcountz for years and Microsoft Money before that, but this is perfect for my needs. I have one request for development. Whilst we can tab across the entry cells, it would be great to be able to Shft Tab backwards too. All the best

I just bought the software, after trying it for a few hours, the first impressions are very good. Other similar programs offer versions in different languages. The option of having it in Spanish would be fantastic, as well as access to Spanish banks. I will continue using it and trying out all the features. So far, very happy.

Hi, I liked the software but found that the process of transferring all information across from AceMoney was too time consuming. I would balance one account, then import the next account and the existing accounts were then all thrown out. I gave up because I have 20 years worth of transactions over about 50 accounts. I want them all in one place, I don't want to be running an 'old' and a 'current'. The reason I decided to try another software was to be able to have a live sync. Yours was the best alternative I found, it was the transfer process which meant it was not practical for me to move. If there is a way that I can do a consolidated transfer from AceMoney, I would be delighted to do that.

Very good Banking programme. I only use it for checking my High Street Bank Accounts which it does very well. There doesn't appear to be anything it can't do, it is so versatile and very comprehensive. The online support is excellent, very helpful.

Suits me. I have 7 actual bank accounts on it plus 5 pseudo banks such as Mastercard. I do not attempt to keep all the running totals correct but do keep most transactions on it but only important cash ones. Useful for completing tax returns, eg Gift Aid. Also acts as a sort of a diary, eg when did I last go to the dentist. I do not keep track of investments on it but do record purchases, sales and dividends.

I had come to the end of my Premier Plan subscription (except 1 day) and wished to renew but this time fall back to the Starter Plan as I no longer needed the Investment module in the Premier plan. I could not think how to downgrade except for cancelling and re-installing the Starter Plan. If I may suggest, perhaps a facility to do this more correctly would be a useful feature. I am enjoying the trial version so far. However, there is no "View" tab on the ribbon or any method to enlarge the right pane of transactions. I am having to use my computer's magnifier to enlarge to 125 or 150% to see clearly in order to enter transactions. It would be very useful if something could be done about this.

Hi, I'm liking it. It's a very comprehensive personal accounts program that does everything I need and a good deal more. Just had one glitch occurring as I was reconciling my main account monthly statement which can run to five pages... If I edited an entry whilst reconciling, the program stopped automatically checking the left hand checkbox and undone any I had manually checked, leaving the running total at the bottom wrong until I went back and manually checked them all again. Overall I'm very happy with the software and will wait to see what happens with next months statement before raising the issue with support.

The Desktop version I have used for many years with total satisfaction. The On-line version I used for a limited time, it was obviously an equally useful system but not for me.

Currently using trial version. Fairly self explanatory, puzzled how to save docs but seems to happen automatically. The "You Tube" online tutorials are confusing as they do not appear to display the current version 3.00? Other than that I will probably subscribe but still considering.

I am over 80 and use your excellent programme to follow the two main account we hold. Due to illness I missing recording a few weeks of individual payments. It now looks as if it is going to take a number of hours to get back up to date, but my life is too short to mess about like that. So I have decided to reduce entry to my monthly paper accounts documents from Tesco and Lloyd's. I do not do a lot of any analysis and comparisons since I am not in business and do not have a complex financial life, so your excellent programme is essentially over the top for me. It would good for me if you could automatically take in my monthly Tesco and Lloyd's accounts but that is probably not of any benefit to you so not worth wasting your tech time on. Thank you for your support over the years, I apreciate it. I will stay at monthly messing about if I may, but If this clutters up you data base I am happy to resign my account from you programme. Excellent! Maybe when you connect to your bank and the app sees a pending transaction, it doesn’t take this into account with the account balance. Maybe the pending balance could be shown but in grey?

The software does pretty much what I want it to, although somewhat 'clunky'. In particular, having to save every transaction is a pain. The budget function is good. I miss, however, the Categories that I had in Home Accountz - i now have to run a report to see how I'm doing in a particular category. Importing the data took forever, as I was not able to import the description under the description heading.

On the whole I'm very pleased with BankTree. It's clear, mostly easy to understand and intuitive. Also great value for money. I would like the following enhancements. Reports - the physical printed report should be headed with a title. The physical printed report should show the parameters (customising) used, or perhaps there should be an option on the print screen to have/not have these. When opening an account I would like two things - to avoid scrolling position the account so that it shows the transaction on or nearest to todays date in the middle of the screen. Some indication of where the current date is in the list of transactions (eg a coloured line). If you have any queries I'd be happy to discuss by email. I had one strange incident. I incorrectly entered a transaction date 3/1/25 into the account. This led to the the account list balance and the ending balance being different. The transaction did not appear in the account list but was affecting the ending balance. Only by using a report for all dates could I track down the transaction and delete it.

Would like to see support for stable coins like USDT or USDC. There are billions tied up in these coins meaning almost everybody involved in crypto have some. You cannot be involved in crypto and not have stable coins as it's essentially the digital dollars of this world. Having no support for them in an accounting package is vital. Also, not sure what graphics are used for the income/expense pie charts on the dashboard but these do not scale well. I have to zoom browser to 110% to be able to see the whole chart. At normal zoom levels I can only see about 2/3 of the pie chart. The charts should scale with the 'boxes' they are in.

Been used to Microsoft Money before. This is a similar programme but much more sophisticated. However miss ability to schedule entry of recurring payments/credits ahead of date due.

I have a custom report which looks at the future cashflow in one particular account. I noticed that a payment would give problems and so In BT I rearranged my future payments dates to see how that would affect the cash flow. I then went back to the report and it had not changed. I needed to select our reports and then go back to the custom report before it recalculated. Surely this is not right should it not recalculate every time it is launched?

It would be great if there was an easy / quick way to change the category applied to multiple transactions rather than dealing with individual transactions. Likewise a net worth report showing the balances at multiple dates similar to the monthly income and expenditure report would be good

I do like this software and once I figured out that you need to purchase the software PLUS buy the online banking portion of it I was up and away. Please make it more clear that you have to buy a extra subscription for the banking downloads.

An excellent piece of software. The word help pages could be doing with being illustrated, however the on line video tutorials are outstandingly good and answered all my questions. These tutorials should be given more prominence upon installation as I only found them through Google. I would like to use the on line bank downloads as I did with MS Money, but they do not cover all of my accounts and also they are very expensive. As I am retired I have the time to enter the transactions manually.

Quick reply - but I'm still a bit confused. However overall the online version is working well and I prefer it to the desktop version. There are a few things that I feel should work that don't but may be I need more experience of it.

Very useful to keep track of various accounts. Recently paid the £5 to transfer it to my new laptop, and that seems to have gone well. The control of my laptop with the touch pad is a bit fiddly, especially scrolling, I might get a mouse for it.

An excellent piece of software which, no doubt, I will find even more functionality as I use it. After having watched all the uTube tutorials I found myself able to enter data with confidence. The tutorials are much more effective than the Q&A text help documents and should be promoted better. So far, I have not needed to contact the support desk because the tutorials are so good. In some ways this package is even better than the Quicken Delux package which I have been using since 2017.

I've been using this for over a year now, and it's very straightforward to set up accounts, enter transactions and keep track of spending. I've had to transfer it to 2 different laptops during this time, and the changeover went easily. Most things I'd like it to do, it does. The few things I wish it would do is probably because I haven't learnt how to do it yet. Previously used Microsoft Money, and then Accountz, but this is just as good - if not better.

I'm confused. I thought I had a regular monthly subscription and that you would take a payment each month. I did not get advice about a declined payment or any difficulty with my payment method. You just seemed to assume it was cancelled after a month. I have now purchased an annual subscription. I'm "back in". will this roll on at the end of the year ? Mark

Pretty good so far but need better way to handle the 20 plus accounts we have. Hard to find the key ones - I do have them grouped. Also would prefer to lose the meaningless total on dashboard but keep other totals. Also bit hard to find how to add a transaction, do I have to open the account list?

I am moving from Microsoft Money. Having tried BankTree desktop version I have now moved on to BankTree online. The 7 day trial period is finished and I have purchased the one month starter licence. Still exploring the product but, so far, so good. My data converted across from MS Money very well and transaction input seems straightforward. Yet to try reconciling Accounts at month end.
